This delicious low-sugar take on the classic chocolate chess pie will have you questioning what you thought you knew was possible with sugar-free!
This new version of a chocolate chess pie uses the low-or-no sugar options for a few key ingredients while still satisfying those sweet cravings you've had! And it's just a few simple steps!
Ingredients:
- 1 unbaked pie shell
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 3 ounces unsweetened chocolate
- 1 cup granulated sugar substitute
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt
- Melted Tom & Jenny's caramels, for drizzling
Steps:
1.) Preheat your oven to 350°F. Chop the unsweetened chocolate and place it in a heatproof bowl with the butter. Melt the butter and chocolate together in the microwave on a low power setting. Stir until smooth, then set aside to cool slightly.
2.) In a medium bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar substitute, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until the mixture is slightly frothy and lightened in color. Gradually stir in the melted butter and chocolate until fully combined.
3.) Pour the filling into the pie shell and bake the pie for 35 minutes, or until the center is just set. For a smooth, crack-free top, remove the pie when the center is set but still jiggles slightly.
4.) Cool the pie completely on a wire rack. Just before serving, drizzle your melted Tom & Jenny's sauce generously over each slice.
