Dates are an amazing natural sweetener and are a great way to satisfy that sweet tooth without breaking open the conventional sugar! Add in peanut butter, peanuts, and chocolate, and you've got the makings of a delicious snickers-inspired treat!
We're making this around New Year's but no matter what time of year you're checking out this recipe, it's always a great time to start snacking smarter! See how simple and easy this no-bake recipe is down below:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup dates (pitted and halved)
- 1/2 cup natural peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate
- 1/4 cup peanuts
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt flakes
- Melted Tom & Jenny’s caramels for drizzling
Steps:
1.) Spread the dates evenly onto a parchment-lined loaf pan or square baking dish.
2.) Spread the peanut butter evenly over the date layer. You can melt it slightly to more easily drizzle it over the dates.
3.) Scatter the peanuts over the peanut butter layer.
4.) Melt the chocolate in the microwave or over a double boiler until smooth. Pour the melted chocolate over the peanut butter and peanuts, spreading it into an even layer.
5.) Sprinkle sea salt flakes over the chocolate. Place the pan in the freezer for about 1 hour, or until firm.
6.) Remove from the pan, slice into bars, and top them with the melted Tom & Jenny’s caramel. Serve chilled or at room temperature. Enjoy!
